Interesting Bits and Pieces!

Sample Image Boet Troskie, our Patron, received a doctoral award in 2007 at the Central University of Technology.  The Bloemfontein Children's choir is very proud of him!  To show this and to acknowledge him as our Patron, the choir comitee paid him a special visit.  To express our thanks they sang a most touching song: Irish Blessing.  They also gave him a handmade card to congratulate him on this big achievement.

Skouspel 2005

The Bloemfonteun Children's Choir went on tour to Skouspel 2005. The event was in Sun City at the superbowl the superbowl is HUGE ! It can take about 6000 people and it was full at all four shows! We really enjoyed the valley of the waves and the lazy river. We stayed at a youth hostel and had loads of fun! We performed with famous South-African artists like Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Dozi, Christina Azavedo, Koos kombuis etc. I really Hope we get a chance to perform there again!

ABSA KKNK 2006!

This year we got an Invatation to go to the ABSA KKNK, a national arts festival in Oudtshoorn, South Africa. We had three performances each on a seperate day. We stayed in "Die Herberg" youth hostel. We had loads of shopping time and we all bought very interesting stuff at the hundreds of different stalls. We also watched two shows, Gatiepie en die vroue Spooke and André the hypnotist.   We had much fun watching all those people  get hypnotised!  It was a real privilage to perform on one our countrie's own art festivals.

Tours in 2006       Sample Image    February 2007

last year's tours was all fun! We went to Welkom, Bultfontein and Vreiheid! The tours is all on invatation and we enjoyed it a lot! In Bultfontein we were placed with guest parents and they spoiled us a lot, they gave us cake and all sorts of nice things. We had two performances one in Bultfontien High School's Hall and one in the church the next morning. In Welkom we stayed in a hostell and also had nice performances there. We had performances in the city hall and one in a church in Virginia. It was really hot in Welkom! It was a nice oppertunity to perform there! We want to say thanks to all the people who helped us to

arrange all that we really appreciate it!

Welcome Texas Girl's choir!Laughing

Were going to have a pancake evening with them to give them a warm South Afican welcome. They are going to the lion farm and are visiting the mall. They will also have a few performances in local churches. We hope they will enjoy the rest of their tour and we wish them good luck.Wink
